Can Dr. Farooqui be my primary care doctor?

Yes. Rawq Medicine is a full primary care practice. Dr. Farooqui is a board-certified family medicine physician, and as a member she becomes your primary care doctor — handling everything from annual physicals and preventive care to chronic disease management, sick visits, mental health support and wound care.

Is my membership HSA-eligible?

Accepted Answer

Yes. As of January 1, 2026, Direct Primary Care membership fees are HSA-eligible. If you have a Health Savings Account paired with a high-deductible plan, you can pay your Rawq Medicine membership entirely with pre-tax dollars — a significant new change in NJ that most people don't know about yet. FSA cards can generally be used the same way.

Do I still use my insurance?

Rawq Medicine is not insurance and doesn't replace it. You pay us directly for your primary care. We recommend keeping some form of insurance — often a lower-cost, high-deductible plan — for hospital stays, surgeries, specialists and emergencies. Your membership handles the everyday care insurance tends to do poorly.

Do you offer virtual / telemedicine care?

Yes. Alongside in-person visits, Dr. Farooqui offers telemedicine consults and direct texting, so many questions and follow-ups can be handled without coming in at all — care that fits around your life.

What's included in my membership fee?

Every membership includes your primary care plus same or next-day visits (when possible), direct texting with Dr. Farooqui, wound care, chronic disease management, mental health support and medication management, annual physicals and preventive care, and routine preventive labs — all at no additional charge.

What isn't included?

Your membership includes routine preventive labs at no additional cost. Specialty or advanced labs are billed separately at our negotiated wholesale rate — always disclosed to you in advance, with no markup. Prescriptions are filled at the pharmacy of your choice, and we always help you find the most affordable option. Imaging (X-rays, CT, MRI, mammograms) and any medical equipment you need are not included, but are billed directly by the facility at significantly discounted cash-pay rates, with upfront pricing so there are never any surprises.

How do I know if this is right for me?

Can I use my FSA / HSA card?

Yes. Membership is HSA-eligible as of January 1, 2026, so you can pay with your HSA — and FSA funds can generally be applied the same way. If you're unsure about your specific plan, we're happy to help you check.

Even excellent insurance rarely buys you time or access. Membership gets you a doctor who actually knows you, same or next-day visits, unhurried appointments, and direct texting — without co-pays, referrals or the seven-minute visit. Your insurance keeps doing what it's good at (hospitals, specialists, emergencies) while Rawq handles your day-to-day care properly.

I don't have insurance — can I still join?

Absolutely. Many members join precisely because they're uninsured or have a very high deductible. You pay one flat monthly fee for your primary care, and Dr. Farooqui actively builds low-cost options — like Cost Plus Drugs and GoodRx — into every prescription she writes. What happens in an emergency?

For life-threatening emergencies, always call 911 or go to the nearest ER. For everything in between — the things that usually send people to urgent care or the ER unnecessarily — you can text or call Dr. Farooqui directly.

Can I keep my specialists?

Absolutely. Rawq Medicine is your primary care home. We coordinate with your existing specialists and refer you when you need one — you stay in control of your care.
